    One time job:
Have a car that does not run right. Did a basic tune up (spark plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter) to no avail.

Stumbles under load, lacks power. No check engine light codes thrown.

I don't know if it's a sensor went bad and if so, which. MAF sensor/O2/etc.

If you are very good with diagnostics and EFI, need your expertise.

    North Potomac area.

What does not running right mean? Did you do a compression test?

If it's a newer car if one of the sensors were down you should most likely have a CEL.

Westbard Citgo, 1 block off River Road, across from Kensington in Bethesda.

My family took our cars there for 30 years. Carlos passed away, but sons took over. If they still own it, go there.

But first, be sure it's not something simple and cheap you can fix yourself: Check the rubber vacuum lines, of which there are probably several, and which have a nasty habit of becoming disconnected or deteriorating and developing a split or a hole.

I've had that problem on more than one car, and they exhibit the symptoms you describe. Good luck.

Could be fuel, pump- filter. Could be exhaust stopped up converter-muffler collapsed.
Does the throttle plate open all the way?

    I'm in Carroll but that's a ways.

You say stumbles under load. How does it do when in nuetral and revving it up without load?

    Also don't skip the obvious.

Look, I know you're Gods gift to cars, but make sure the spark plugs are all tight and the boots are locked on. Also make sure the wires are in the correc order an you reconnected all the vacuum lines.

    Have not tried that yet.

I checked all the obvious and simple things. Plugs, wires, air filter.

it's either the mass airflow filter dirty, or O2 sensor, or EGR valve or some vaccum issue.

I need someone to test drive it.

Please post the year, make and model of the vehicle, as well as current mileage.

Not on a public forum. It's just a plain jane domestic model, 4 cylinder. You cannot diagnose this online.

My S2k was doing something like this recently, i had my buddy check it but it didnt show anything,. Had no Cel code but when I would put it under load and it would stumble bad. I ended up taking it to honda man in Severna park and they put two techs on it for a week, they watched what was happining with one driving and one plugged into it with a pc they finally figured it was the primary O2. once replaced, no more issues

So you own one of 4 plain jane domestic model, 4 cyl cars. That is easy to pick out of a crowd.

and actually it probably could be diagnosed online if you gave more info.

Cars tend to have the same problems based on year make and model.

Thread should have read. GOOD REPAIR SHOP MOCO, SUGGESTIONS?
