Are AK pistols like the Mini Draco or Zastava PAP M85 legal in MD? If so, where is a good shop to buy such pistols?

Duffys has a few of them including some with Sig arm braces. Prices were in the $500-600 range if I recall correctly.

My understanding is if a handgun is on the MDSP handgun roster then it's Maryland legal. I think some mdshooters members have been instrumental in having a few AK pistols added to the roster recently. :party29:

I think I might pick one up soon.

There are several different MP5 Style pistols no legal in MD with you HQL Card and work quite nicely with the pistol stabilizing brace.

Does this pistol take standard AK magazine? I maybe interested if it does. 7.62.x39mm is always fun to shoot.

7.62x39 mm AK pistols such as the PAP M92 take standard AK mags.

The OP refers to the M85 PAP AK pistol which I believe takes AR mags (it's 5.56).

Look at United Gun Shop. They had some a couple weeks ago. Bit of a ride to Rockville, though.

Kinda weird to me that the Draco (and other AK pistols like it) are still on the handgun roster, given their street rep (i.e., they get name-checked in rap songs all the time). Over the years, MGA has shown a tendency to go after "gang-banger" guns - that's why there was a purge of "assault pistols" (e.g., TEC-9s, MACs, Uzis, etc.) from the handgun roster in the mid-90s.
