We all know what makes up an AR15 rifle and a SBR AR15, and an AR15 pistol. But why is there no such thing as an AOW AR15? If I build basically an AR15 pistol and put a front grip on the rail, why can't I Form 1 AOW this firearm?

I know I've heard that if you put a grip on the front rail of an AR15 pistol, it's no longer a pistol but how does this make it a SBR AR15? It still doesn't have a butt stock.

So, after 2 paragraphs, my question is, can an AR15 pistol be made into an AOW AR15?

    Thanks!

Yes. Most people choose to Form 1 an AR because it allows the addition of a stock, and is the same $200 making tax. An AR pistol with VFG under 26" in OAL is an AOW.
