Here's my first handgun, a Sig 226 9mm. Had no intention of ever owning a handgun or semiauto rifle until SB281 told me I couldn't. Now I'm enjoying both and following the action to get it overturned closely. I'm an amateur photographer and have recently been trying my hand at studio lighting for products and people, I still have a LOT to learn so this is me just getting started and experimenting with different lighting setups.

First few didn't come out so hot:

But I got better, I think!

No, bare bulbs mixing an alien bee and some Nikon flashes. Intend to get some soft boxes and maybe a light box down the road in I stick with it...

Thanks for the kind words btw, here is an older picture of my initial basement studio set up tests:

This is my one and only Sig. I did a lot of research and decided on this one after finding it at HTArms in Waynesboro PA (IP here). They actually drove it Bollingers Gunsmithing in Taneytown for me to pick up at and do paperwork, to make sure I had time to pick it up before 10/1. Big thanks to both the BGS and HTArms staff for making this one happen.

For me, with the Hogue grip, this is the most perfect fit for my hand out of any pistol I have shot or held yet.

How is the Sig light laser combo working out on the MK25? I was considering one.

It's ok. I mainly wanted it for the flashlight, which is pretty bright and has a neat blinding/confusing strobe feature, but not nearly as bright as other LED flashlights I have (which may just be because it's small.) I will say though that in the dark it illuminates a wide arc, which is exactly what I wanted.

The laser is pretty good. Once I dialed it in, when I took my time I could use it for bullseye shots fairly consistently at 10 yards. It's also kind of a cool training aid, since it lets you see very clearly if you're jerking the trigger or flinching.

That's not really what it's for though. Since it holds its zero, it serves its intended purpose of rapid target acquisition without a complete sight picture. To me it's similar to the advantage an EOTech gives you, only you could actually "aim" this from the hip. I consider it an added bonus to the flashlight.

    Now, all of that said...

I leave that on when I'm at home because the flashlight was the whole point (the idea being I could illuminate someone in the dark if I needed to). However, when I go to the range I frequently take it off at least part of the time. I do practice with it, but like to take it off too because the Mk25 has a nice finger pad in front of the trigger guard for the index finger on my left hand, and this is how I prefer to shoot handgun. The light/laser makes it impossible to put your finger there. It's just a personal preference I have.
