    Im confused.. looking for guidance

    The MSI survey form states:

"The Second Amendment Foundation has requested that Maryland Shall Issue® to gather data on the number of people who have applied for permits and been denied. MSI considers the MSP's action of returning the application and fee a denial. We have the utmost respect for your privacy and will treat your information with extreme care. Thank you for your assistance."

And it also has a question:

    "Date App Returned/Denied/Approved"

Do they still want the info if we haven't been denied (or approved) yet? I didn't see a box to check indicating that our applications were still (presumably) active. Thanks for your help!

Per grprimr1 in another thread, yes. MSI wants to know information from anyone who has applied, regardless of whether they have received a denial notification of any type.

    Yes.

There is speculation of that number being assigned to you for tracking purposes. A member who currently re-applied after a denial 8 years ago had a number of 69XXX

I'm not sure if that's it.. If you look at the spread sheet that one member put together more than one person has the same number

RCVD the following from MSI newsletter of 24 April

Will You/Have You Applied for a Permit After Woollard?

    Yes I plan to (80%, 1,575 Votes)
    Yes I have (12%, 247 Votes)
No, I don't think things will change (8%, 156 Votes)

    Total Voters: 1,978

    Note: only 247 have applied!

Most likely the stats are way off. The reason is, I filled out the survey that I was planning to apply and before I did apply and I could not change my answers to did apply

    Mine:
    March 06 - Printed Application
    March 06 - Registered at http://www.marylandfingerprinting.com
March 07 - Got electronic prints, photos, and notary
March 07 - by noon - mailed application via USPS w/receipt to MDSP
March 08 - Got receipt via email
March 12 - got background check letter
April 19th - after a couple of messages back and forth, I got the MDSP person on the phone and she scheduled and in-person interview with me at Pikesville on April 30th.
    April 30th - Appointment Scheduled

    For my wife Lee:

    March 08 - Registered at http://www.marylandfingerprinting.com
    March 09 - Printed Application
March 09 - Got electronic prints, photos, and notary
March 10 - by noon - mailed application via USPS Priority w/receipt to MSP
March 14 - Got background check letter
March 25 (SUNDAY) - got call from MDSP - asked questions and talked to husband - stated "the state police part is done, we are just waiting on the courts to tell us what to do"

It is strange that that my wife got a phone interview and I have to take off of work and drive to the MDSP.

    I looked at that...

The only dupe number I saw was a Hub/Wife combo. Made me wonder if they were lumped together by MSP, or one check was written??

Maybe your right. It may be one of those things that if we found out what the numbers really ment we would be let down because they may not mean anything that we would find interesting

uscoastiee, nice work for a puddle pirate !!
Just for updates, all four of the "still serving" sets of info sent in DD214s. My livescan date is 3/22 also. Although I DID have to go back on 4/2 and get my FBI card redone as it was "missing info/illegible". Keep up the good work

Alright, well lucky for me I have a backup, so I'll pull it and see where I went wrong. I imagine it was in the sorting function.

I'm really busy for the next few days, so I'll try to get it taken care of by the end of the weekend.

Thanks for looking out and the info!!

Starting to Really wonder what is going on. I sent my application in on March 10th, the got it by March 13th. They cashed my check quite some time ago, but I still have not heard a word. I called and the recording even gives you the Warning, "if you are calling regarding the status of your application, you may delay the process further". Threat Taken. Haven't done any thing. But, at this point I'm wondering should I just take a chance and email them any way??

    :wtf:

Don't they know how to manage their resources or are the MSP leadership truly that incompetent?
