im thinking of building my next ar. so far its just a vision with many holes to patch. the main idea is to have a sbr suppressed .300 blackout, with a seekins precision upper and lower, and yhm diamond rail done in burnt bronze ceracoat.

    now for my question,

im starting to like the look of the suppressor partially covered by the rail. i want a 8.5 inch barrel and a 12 inch rail with the suppressor sticking out only a few inches. now when i shoot my hand is all the way forward, and id be using a afg with my hand wrapped around the rail. will i burn my hand off? ive seen other ar15s like this, how do there owners do it? i also really want to use surefire ladder rail covers. i have them on my other ar and theyre awesome! but they dont provide the best protection. what do i do?

    thanks guys!

this is a mock up of what my ar15 should look like,

Your build looks very much like a Spikes Compressor (other than the .300/5.56 difference).

Heat will be a problem after one mag. This is NOT the sort of build you would want to run through a carbine course unless you plan on training with an oven mitt. I've run an AAC suppressor on a 9" .300 SBR where the suppressor sits right up against the URX (about .1"). The area around the front sight gets very hot very fast. But I liked it so much I've got a build waiting on two stamps for it.

While it looks cool, I can't see having a can under the hand guard being very practical. But that's just a guess from similar experience.
