I like this... even where they admit that gun laws probably had nothing to do with it, it's still "proof" that gun control works.

    Confirmation bias anyone?

The ONLY reason they can even remotely make up statistics supporting this is because of the cold winter we had. There were nearly no murders in Baltimore in the Feb-Mar timeframe due to the cold temps and snow. That is it.

Vinnie Demarco says the FSA has been a success. Who knew?

Who's this Wicomico County sheriff? We need more LEOs like him.

    Two questions for Mr. Demarco,

    1) is there a change in the number of killings associated with now banned semi-automatic rifles? One would think that the items that are banned would have the most dramatic impact.

    2) there were more firearms sold in MD in 2013 than in any previous year. Did this increase in firearms ownership lead to the decrease that he's citing in firearm's related deaths in early 2014?

The last question is a variation on Levy's point ... because if there is a cause and effect relationship ... then a sudden increase in civilian owned firearms, according to the Demarco model, should lead to more gun deaths. But that didn't happen, and in fact the opposite happened, so he's got to get ahead of the spin.

Good point, all. Too bad Vinnie only makes statements and won't discuss it further....
