Atlantic Firearms has these and they look beautiful.

I doubt any parts mix and match into an AK. It's built on a "True RPK receiver" and it only has one "evil" feature (flash hider).

    LINK

    Just curious.

Try and order it. It is not an AK, nothing of significance interchanges with the ak-47 or ak in all formats etc. Same thing with the m77 from Serbia

    think AR10 compared to AR15

Nothing of significance interchanges with the PSL either, but that doesn't make it a MD legal gun either.

The AR10 vs AR15 comparison is valid, but as I always say, law and logic do not intersect, esp in MD

    Not Legal per Atlantic Firearms

Ridiculous. This needs to be challenged somehow. By this logic the Remington 740 should be banned

The freaking Vepr is legal in all of europe for Christ's sake! Even CA. At least in CA a gun has to be specifically banned by name.

Move to MD and challenge it

The AK is on the ban list twice; once as "AK-47 in all forms" and again as "Avtomat Kalashnikov semiautomatic rifle in any format." Even though a Vepr isn't technically an AK-47, it is a Kalashnikov pattern rifle.

Which tells us a lot about how poorly thought out O'Moron's cut-and-paste job was.

Is it? Where does that line get drawn? I would argue that, without clarification from the enforcing agency, it is unconstitutionally broad.

Are all of these Avtomat Kalashnikov Semiautomatic rifles in any format?

Actually, the AK-47 category only encompassed 7.62x39 AKs. They added the Avtomat Kalashnikov category to encompass the AK74 and other non-interchangeable parts AK pattern rifles a few years later.

There are LGSs that will tell you a VEPR in 7.62x54r is OK in Maryland.

It's a F-ing sporting rifle and nothing more. It's in no way an AK47.

Find a local LGS who will order one with a standard rifle (non pistol grip style) stock and do the deed. The link gun looks illegal here.

The Saiga shotgun is AK47 based too, but they are legal here.

Description says "extra heavy barrel" so it's good to go right? It's a fricken target/hunting rifle! A can't argue any point here though given how ridiculous the law is. Vague doesn't even start to cover it.
