I have some bad news about Splitter. Chris died today at 12:45 p.m.

He had not posted for a long time due to his illness. For those of you who are not familiar with him, he also self-published some books under the name of
"C.S. Splitter".

He was a good friend to a lot of us and I will miss him.

This may seem irreverent ...

Splitter's MDS avatar was Ron White, which by his own admission he looked quite a lot like, as well as shared his sense of humor. While I also offer my condolences and sympathies to his loved ones, I can't help but want to pay tribute to a man that I never met, but in a slightly different way.

I bought and read his Kindle books and enjoyed his MDS postings like the rest of us, but most of all, I want to remember him as I imagined him ... with a scotch in one hand and a cigar in the other, rattling off a hilarious gun story that we could all relate to.

Rest in peace my friend ... and keep them rolling in the aisles in heaven.
