Cool. Glad you got some stuff! How were the prices on the little things like shooting accessories?

I wished I could have made it but have had too much going on with my Grandson this past week. Were there a lot of knives left when you were there? The more I thought about it I was liking the fixed crkt 7" tanto.
Was there any ammo left? Curious what the prices were.

Yeah top of the internet pricing is what I felt as well. It seems like they would sell a Ton more if prices were $20-25% under "used retail" pricing. I wonder if the estate/owner has any input on pricing with these estate sale companies. It feels like once they use the word "collection" they think people will pay more than something is worth.

The best estate sales are still those run by relatives. Especially when they are in get rid of it mode. Some auction companies will deal often if you are buying several items.

I think the worst sale I went to recently was a huge old house in Annapolis. The guy was selling his own stuff he accumulated over time. I think he may have had an antique shop or been a collector.
He was still living there and it looked like a hoarders house. Some areas looked like someone had been living there and just vanished one day. Everything was for sale, no prices marked but I heard from others he was pricing stuff as if he wanted to hold on to it.
I found a sickle head and the handle it had rotted off laying under a pile of trash on the porch and thought I would pay $10 for it (had seen a hand held on for $5 at another sale) and he said he couldn't take less than $50 because it was an antique. Whatever...

Most of the stuff was cheap, plus he came down a bit on things my buddy bought.
I got him to throw the bayonet in with the rifle price, i didnt even try to get the rifle price down, as it was On par or little lower than normal. but the bayo is worth a 100 online. I am super happy with the purchase and my buddy Mario will be very happy with My Old Madsen when he gets it in a week. I would have bought more but i spent most of the cash in my pocket + 230 out of the acct and only had 400 in the acct . So its ramen noodles this week for me. :lol2:

9/10 have nothing good. You just gotta keep looking.

Impresses on the edge 2$ SOG. Where is that flea market and is reoccurring?

I talked him down to $1. It is missing the thumb stud and is hard to close. I haven't tried cleaning it.

That was the Columbian center. 335 Governor Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. It's either once a month or every 2 weeks.
I got 900 rounds of 32auto there before. It's hit or miss but the knives and military stuff was cool. One of those guys said he usually sets up at one of the flea markets but it was too cold.

My father and I used to hit all the yard sales after mapping out our route using the Baltimore Sun classifieds. He worked there for 35 years and red the paper from cover to cover every day, especially the classified(when the guns for sale adds were still allowed) and we would hit them all in a predetermined route. If there weren't any guns visible he would discretely ask "do you have any guns or ammunition?" I now have in my collection a number of Winchester, Harrington & Richardson and Remington 22 rifles and pistols all from going back to the folks after the yard sale was done or being escorted into the house to get a private look at the guns they had for sale. Used to see lots of rifles and shotguns just laying on blankets or tables at the North Point drive in flea market and flea markets like it. Where was the anti-gun movement then? I also found the grey ammo can in one of the photos earlier in this thread, marked "detonators, high explosive" or something like that. I need to get my butt out to some of the Harford Co and area yard sales as soon as the weather warms up, good stuff stashed around these parts that people want rid of that don't know what they've got!

My mom goes around to yard sales (and auctions) and buys "junk jewelry". You'd be surprised how much real gold and diamonds she's found at yard sales.
