We had our big Christmas dinner last night, since my daughter's on duty at Franklin Square tonight. I was driving back from seeing my mother in Frederick this afternoon and would've killed for any kind of burger, even McD's, but even they were closed.

Wow, halfway surprised..... well there's Denny's which the hungrier you are the better it is. :).

New Place called Smash Burger in Bethesda, very very good.
BGR in Bethesda is also good, but pricier.

Am I the only one who thinks Five Guys is the best burger joint.
    Especially considering their french fries.

I agree, but it depends on which one you go to. All of the spots in DC have been good, but the one in California, MD smashes the hell out of them with the press. They hit it so hard the burger flies into pieces and the cheese is the only thing that holds it together. The best topping combo at Five Guy's is fried onions & mushrooms, a little bit of lettuce, extra cheese, extra mayo, and two packs of pepper.

Cholesterol now under 200.... Sigh. I haven't had a real hamburger or steak in the last 3 years. Can't even look, makes me too depressed. :sad20:

I've heard good things about Smash Burgers in Bethesda, but haven't made it over there yet.

They opened up a Smash Burger in Germantown too - in the same shopping center as the new Wegmans (so watch out for hordes of Wegman's crazed yuppies). Plus a Krazeburger nearby. Apparently it is a Korean influenced (owned?) chain so they have bulgogi burgers.

I love burgers so much I re-read this whole thread and man am I hungry.

Can't believe that the "Tilted Kilt" in White Marsh wasn't mentioned, not once.

The bourbon burger was absolutely fantastic, but it was hard to swallow because of the "scenery".
