I have a 20 yr old Medeco deadbolt that someone managed to twist and break a part inside - a t-shaped metal tab that connects the handle to the core of the lock. Looks like someone used a wrench on the handle; no other way to bend something like that.
Anyway, the local Medeco supplier says that the part is no longer available, and the lock is no longer supported by Medeco. His solution is to sell me a whole new lock; I don't even know if my old cylinder can be swapped in or if I need a new one re-keyed.
If anyone here has a stash of old Medeco parts, or can advise me about interchangeability, I'd like to hear from you.
Thanks in advance.
