    Howdy,

I recently traded for a used Beeman Silver Kodiak pellet gun with 22 and 17 barrels:

I plan on using it for practice and hunting when applicable. I assume the scope on it is hurting accuracy and am looking for your advice on an affordable replacement. I know a lot about rifle optics, but little on air gun optics. I am aware that spring guns need a specific type of scope to deal with the spring's movement.

It came with a host of pellets so I am excited to get shooting!

    Thanks!

Springers are tough on scopes and mounts, especially those in your power range. Just make sure you get stout mount and a scope that is airgun-rated. I've had good luck with Accushot mounts and UTG/Leaper scopes or Hawke AG scopes. I usually order from Amazon or Pyramyd Air. Good luck with your new rifle!

Also, if you are having accuracy problems, check and see that every screw is tight. Scope mounts, barrel attaching, all the stock screws including the ones under the little rubber plugs... Tighten all that up and see if it improves.

Centerpoint scopes are owned by Crosman and guaranteed to work on airguns. I have a 4x and a 2x7 power and both have been on all different kinds of airguns with no issues. Additionally, they are cheap at Wally World.

    Good advice here.
My .22-cal springer destroyed a Simmonds 3-9 scope after about 50 shots.
I sent it back to them with a note.
They fixed it and said not to put it back on the air gun!
