Yes MD legal. I bought one last year. Cheap stock. Fun to shoot until it gets dirty then its a jamomatic. Avoid cheap ammo. It rdquires high velocity. I got a great deal and added a red dot and after market folding stock. The scope rail is junk. You can wiggle it with your finbers. Its plastic, but after market replacements are available. Mine needs a good cleaning but I'd buy it again for the price. It is super accurate. I have the SD version.
I had an SD version, and loved it. But, I only fed it HV ammo, mostly mini mags, and NEVER had a single issue with it. Very accurate and lots of fun. I will be buying another one, but will look at the H & K this time also. Was not available when I got mine. But, may not be worth the extra price....I would highly recommend the GSG. But, like many semi auto .22's, it needs good ammo.
I met a guy at the range that had one of these. It was truly fun to shoot. He must have known what kind of ammo to put in it, because it didn't have a problem. We probably shot 100-150 rounds. Cool gun.
Bought one for my son last year. He's loving it! I'll ditto Gryphon's remark about need to keep it clean. Not spotless, but clean. We did find a quick shot of CLP or synthetic 5W30 around the bolt frees it up when it gets dirty jams at the range - let's the fun continue until we get home. No problem with any of the ammo he's run through it yet - CCI, M-22, Federal and Win bulk packs and a few others. 400-500 rounds a trip is normal.
A buddy has the HK/walther version. great little rifle. Trigger is a little gritty on that one and not as smooth and crisp as my HK416-22.
Looks like a nice little plinker. Accuracy is right there with all of these, and put a 10/22 to shame.
Overpriced of course, and that's a market driven thing. No biggie. $100 is what, 3 bricks? big deal.
