    Hi everyone,

    I'm in an odd predicament.

I have an Steyr AUG A1 which I bought way before the ban.

I want to replace it with the newer Steyr AUG M1.

Is there any way I can sell my A1 and then use the funds
    to buy an M1?

Is there any legal way to trade it?

    Thanks!

If you are from MD. You cannot get a new AUG. You can sell your old one to a FFL instate or through a FFL out of state.

The AUG is one of the ones I really wanted but could not get before the ban

Can you upgrade the one you have for the new features? Whatever they are. I stopped looking at them because it's depressing.

    Hi, I'm Frostburg! :)

    And in response to Skins_Brew,
the new one has the ability to add a flat top
picatinny rail, as well as a quick bolt release.

The old one has a fixed 1.5x optic.

decorum says you should introduce your self before asking questions

This. Also no legal way to make that happen. For the record... Firearms for sale or trade go in the classifieds. But in yours case that still won't work because it is a banned firearm not legal to buy in marylandstan.

I suppose it could be upgraded...

I would have to get a quick bolt release stock, provided
my A1 receiver can work with it.

I would also have to slice off the fixed sights, and
have rails permanently mounted to the top of the receiver.

That really is your only option.

I can see why you want those upgrades. Being avle to mount any optic would be a big plus.

Good luck and welcome to the forum

Are the "intro police" a division of the "Dupe police" or are the a separate self appointed regulatory agency? Just wondering?

Separate but the Dupe police have jurisdiction in the intro police area. It's like FEDS vs county

Dupe police take real pride in their uniforms. That being said, don't ever part with your AUG. At least while you live in Marylandstien.

You can do exactly what you want.... right after you move from the Peoples Republic of Maryland to the United states of America, they have something called the second Amendment which protects people who live there.
