I would strongly recommend a certified armorer or a good gunsmith. It only requires you to replace two parts, but getting two them and reassembling the 226 can prove difficult for those not familiar with the process.

SRT has nothing to do with the thickness of the lever. The thinner lever is actually just the "reduced reach trigger". You can have an SRT with either the standard lever or the RRT.
