My first, and probably not my last, Sig. P229 Classic .22. Loads of fun, half the cost. Thinking I'll go 9mm for my upgrade to avoid buying another caliber and to keep shooting cheap ammo, but maybe .357 Sig.

i have the exact thing.. :party29:

if you plan to get 357 might as well get the 40sw xchange and buy the barrel for 357.. i believe there is a barrel you can by that fit the 40sw xchange that also can convert to 9mm.. :)

I just got back from the range: shot my p228 and the .22lr conversion kit. What a great way to practice shooting! I'd fire off about 100 rounds of .22lr and then switch up to 9mm for 14 rounds. I'm seeing significant improvement in accuracy, while saving a ton of money on ammunition costs.

Ill second that, though I went the other way with a .357 Xchange kit and a .40 S&W barrel supplied courtesy of Maui. Didnt look much into 9mm as I have far to many of those now.

Finally got the X-change kit for my P220-22 today, ran about 100 rounds of 45 through it, and 200 or so 22s, not a single problem, plenty accurate with decent adjustable sights on the 22 slide, and rugged night sights on the 45 slide. I'm working on getting more mags and holsters for it to use for IDPA, and possibly to carry in winter. It fits my shooting style, and is more comfortable with the beavertail than my previous W.German P220. With the 22 and 45 kits, I have both a decent little plinker and a fine defensive pistol, all for about $800, a bargain for this level of quality and versatility.

My Sig collection. Top left is P220, next to it is my P226 in 9mm, then my P245. After that is my P229 in .40 S&W with TLR-2 and last is my P229 SAS in .357 Sig.
