Anyone ballsy enough to carry in DC, record your interaction (good or bad) here in this thread.

We prefer to hear more good than bad :)

    Isn't the mall NPS owned?

Yes, but now if DC law allows carry-so does the NPS property. See the CC Reform act of 2009. If it's legal in the jurisdiction, legal on an NPS Unit (their term in the law) except where workers are working like a visitors center or concession area.

I'm not liking this! It's a trick, folks, don't do it! And even if it's not a trick, good folks are still going to get screwed, I can feel it!

    .
The tinfoil is getting thick today because it's a hell of a trap that requires the coordination of many people to pull off.

I'm not too worried but we may get a test case for some other violation aside from carry.
A legal fund may be in order.

I am worried that someone will hit the DC bars tonight to celebrate and do something stupid.

Be safe people and be legal, at least inasmuch we actually understand what is legal.

Not doing it will never demonstrate to liberals that the streets will not fill with blood. I say do it while you can however short the time period may be. It is impossible that this is a trick as clearly DC, MPD and the DC AG were all caught off guard. The MPD Chief has issued a bulletin to officers. Take it for what it is. It is great news. This is much more real than Gansler saying LGOC is legit. :party29:

As long as, the firearm being carried has a magazine capacity of no more than 10 rounds (by a person legally able to possess the firearm), the experience should be trouble free.

so reading Chief Lanier's memo, is it going to be SOP to stop everyone carrying and check their "papers," or perhaps (hopefully) she just means if they were already stopped for a crime or the like?

    Emily Miller just now tweeted:

"EmilyMiller: Keep in mind-- the law that only registered DC gun owners can posess ammunition is still in effect."

    IANAL
