Did anyone see the recent news piece about how Hogan got ahold of the State's financial books and determined that the state is worse off financially than he thought?

With the State's finances being so far in the toilet, pro-2A proposals need to be made with the budget in mind - spin it as a money saver or money maker and we might be able to get somewhere with it. We've already been talking about going in that direction, but it would make for a much easier sell if we could show that it would save or make money rather than draining it for something silly like the fired shell casing requirement.

It's not even a "spin", shall issue WOULD be a money maker if administered properly. Drop the stupid shell casing program, drop the ftf interview process, make the HQL a wear and carry card.

    Bam, money saved.

Hey, I thought all those problems went away with all the money coming into state coffers from gambling revenue!!! It must still be in the coffers, because my county school district never saw any :)

The MGA gave $1 Billion to CITY schools last session (over 10 years).

Hogan "got hold of the books" because he actually has to submit a $40 Billion budget, two days after being sworn in.

As you can imagine, he's a real busy man right now.
