Since I'm so busy at work today, I'm going over how much ammunition I'm going to go through per month based on minimum round counts per match I'd like to attend. So far, not counting shotgun shells, I'm looking at 640 centerfire rounds, minimum, per month. That's one match per weekend, not including any practice. If I throw in practice, that's more than 1000 per month until December. Which means I need to get cranking on the reloading press. What are your expected expenditures on munitions this year?

I do not currently go to any matches, so my figures are entirely based upon my average practice sessions.

400 rimfire per month (.22lr), 200 centerfire (assorted calibers), 200 shotshells (spring to autumn skeet season). That tells me that a stockpile of ammunition or reloading components to last me the year is 4.8k rimfire, 2.4k centerfire, and 2.4k shotshells. I am down to ~700 centerfire outside of my reserve inventory, so I also need to schedule some time with my reloading press.

How many rounds per month if you only shot one round from each gun you have? For some on here that would still be impressive.

When I was competing IDPA and 3-Gun on a regular basis and practicing religiously, I was shooting between 1200-1400 rounds a week or about 5K a month total....Sometimes a little more sometimes a little less... breakdown somewhere around 1K of pistol, 3-400 carbine and 50 shotgun. My rankings showed a huge improvement over time but my pocket book felt it too...

    Similar.

When I was shooting USPSA heavily, I shot between 750 - 1000 rounds of .45 per WEEK, during the season. Maybe 250 - 400 in the off season.

1200 per month, mixed 45acp and 9mm. No safe queens allowed. Although, my pile of HP38 is getting depressingly small...
