New user here, I was wondering if anyone could recommend any rifle training courses? Specifically, I would like to get a basic Ruger 10/22 and learn the ins/outs (how to take care of it, how to modify it with attachments, etc). I use to shoot one as a kid, but have not touched one in 20+ years. I only anticipate using the gun to target shoot (reliving my childhood perhaps).

I have no preference if it's with an individual instructor or in a class.

Also, if there are any public range recommendations that offer .22 rentals (is that the term?) so I could get a feel for one again before I make a purchase that wold be fantastic.

I appreciate any and all recommendations.

Are they starting Marines with Ruger 22's now?

    Army issued 5.56 carbines ;)

    Burn.

OP I don't have a Ruger 10/22 but I do have a Marlin model 60 that you could take for a test drive if you're local to Carroll County. And can help square you away with the rifle basics.

We offfer the NRA Basic Rifle class a few times a year but can also offer an NRA F.I.R.S.T. Steps Rifle using a 10/22.

We use the facilities at the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore in Marriottsville.

ADS has a tactical shoot on December 6. Basic rifle marksmanship instruction is a core component of the day. There are enough drills and range that the eginning shooters will have as much fun and development as the advanced shooters.

If you want, I have a couple 10/22's & can meet with you & Mopar so you can take them for a test drive.
