It's ok though, they will all be going to Pre-K.

    OOPS... That's not funded either!

Actually, the breakfast program reaches many grade levels, so this would be huge.

But, when your only commitment is no new taxes, you've limited your options...

1 - tax levels remain the same, so some programs get cut to fund pet projects elsewhere, or

2 - you raise existing taxes and fees to fund the pet projects

You actually give that enough credence to respond to lol. He's going to have a 100% successful memory bypass on that if he gets elected.

If you can't feed your freaking kid before sending them to school YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE THEM.

The state should be able to round up everyone of those kids and provide foster care for them.

Even the wildest animals in our jungles, deserts, and rain forests provide for their own off spring.

There is a "Part 2" to this...

If Brownstain isn't elected, Hogan is facing a "Kobayashi Maru" on Pre-K.

Repealing the law passed quietly last session will point him out to be the child-hater.

Funding it will mean finding new revenue sources for it, whether through other cuts or new taxes.

Ah, but there is a Kirkian solution...

Move to re-allocate the tack-on 3% on alcohol sales Jon Cardin redirected to the DDA in 2012 into funding Pre-K, and part of it would be an audit of DHHS.

Agreed. We give food stamps to feed kids, but the kids are not getting fed, so the State feeds them at school.... Breakfast and lunch!

I thought we expanded Gambling to give the MILLIONS to schools....At least that's what they said when sheeple voted for it..

Hmm... I seem to recall a lot of pro-casino protesters standing next to yellow school buses, waving signs at the side of the road.

Speaking of that, wasn't the flush tax supposed to be for the Bay, and didn't opponents warn that it would be raided by the governor?

+1, it's not the taxpayer's job to feed starving children...I vote to defund that program......of course this is where all the Republicans become RINOS....

What really gets me is many of the same kids that have to be fed breakfast and lunch everyday by the state (you and me) belong to mommas with an EBT card (also provided by us!)

Anthony Brown wants to balance the state's bloated budget on the backs of innocent school children by starving them. Refusing to give children free food and letting them go hungry is nothing short of child abuse. Liberals should be up in arms (no pun intended).

OP your post cracks me up! Just like the tard issued negative crap in my mailbox every night. Every day I get at least one or two negative flyers with the most outrageous and unsupportable claims against the Repub encumbents. Its like reading the Onion. I have yet to receive a single flyer promoting a single Dem based on their own issues - just negative anti other party crap.

The saddest part about the free lunch programs (other than it is something else the taxpayers should not be funding) is when little Tyronia's mama comes into the school to complains about the free food and demand that it be changed....

not to mention the amount of food that is actually thrown away...

The free and reduced meal program is massively abused, but I can tell you one thing, a shit ton of kids are going to be going without breakfast if they were to cut the free/reduced breakfast.

Not necessarily due to the parents not being able to afford breakfast for their kids, but due to the fact that they ****ing blow at being parents.

I dont understand why we keep pushing preK. Originally it was 1-12. Then people decided kids werent prepared for first grade - the land of finger painting, abcs and 123's. So we did kindergarten as a part time thing mainly to teach social interaction through play so school and 30 kids in the same room isnt a shock. Now its full time and we are pushing pre K? Not to knock teachers but do we really need to train kids to go to pre training for school? I think its just become more of a governement sponsored day care now that it takes both parents working (or maybe more common the single parent working) to cover taxes. If that is teh case do we really want to give teh govt more time to indoctrinate - Let them have them from cradle to grave?
