I'm looking to get a good semi auto 7.62x39 rifle. I know my options are somewhat limited thanks to marylands laws but I know there are decent options out there. Any recommendations?

why not get an ak pistol?

The VZ-58s are great- the ones from D-tech or Czechpoint that is

The VZ-2008s are really good too, I just wish they had not run out of parts before they could implement the chrome and/or nitrided barrel options that century promised last year- as said though, the vz-2008 is hard to mount optics unless you get a very good quality gas tube rail. When you buy one it's going to be EXTREMELY tight, but don't listen to the jokers on the internet that tell you to file, there's enough give in the ears and steel on the back to get it into place on 99% of guns and the tighter it is the better she will hold zero. You will have to re-zero every time you take off the gas tube however, which I only do when shooting corrosive, which is almost never through this particular gun due to the non chromed barrel
