    First handgun I purchased was a 1911.

And I did not stop there. :)

I did the same thing! It was a Series 80 Gold Cup National Match bought 11/11/1983 at Clyde's. I shot it the first time over Thanksgiving that year.

Man does this forum sometimes take me down memory lane.

If my wife knew I was spending all this time on MDS, she would be pissed. I just tell her I am looking at internet porn. :innocent0

I own and have owned many 1911s in .45 ACP, 10mm, and .40S&W. The 10mm is what JMB would have chambered the original in if it were around back then. Alas, he had to make due with the .45 ACP. Drop the hammer on a 1911 with REAL 10mm ammunition and you'll see why I love it so.

Who doesn't like a handgun that fits like a glove.

Built mine from a stripped Auto Ordnance Corporation frame about 12 years ago.

They were kind enough to use mine and my son's birth years as the serial number. AOC******

It will go to my son and hopefully his son and so on and so on and so on.

John Browning may have invented the 1911, but he finally got it right on the P35 Hi Power. I'm very partial to the .45acp cartridge and always wondered why the BHP was never made in .45. More gun designs are based on the hi power design than the 1911. I'll take my Sig 220's over 1911's any time. I have Les Baer Monolith for sale on this forum, in case anyone is interested. Good luck to all.
