Somebody needs to call up PSA and convince them to come up with a line of HBAR guns/uppers marketed explicitly as such.

Other than MD residents who are forced to, who would buy them?

Anyone who is looking for a more accurate rifle that weighs less than two pounds more than most standard profile ARs.

    Colt 16" M4 profile barrel:
    1 pound 12 ounces

    Colt 16" HBAR:
    2 pounds 3.4 ounces

    From Bushmaster:

    Barrel (Wt. Lbs.)
    --------------------------
    *16" HBAR (2.7)
    16" HBAR fluted (2.3)
    16" Dissipator (3.0)
    16" Dissipator fluted (2.6)
    16" M4 Dissipator (2.3)
    *16" Superlight (1.9)
    16" M4 (2.2)
    = 0.8 pound lighter

    Military Style Barrels

    14.5"M4_____________2.0
    14.5"M4AK__________ 2.2
    14.5"M4MY__________ 2.2
    14.5"M4AM (phantom)_ 2.2
    16"M4 Dissipator______ 2.3
    16" Superlight________ 1.9
    16"M4______________ 2.2
    20"A2 (govt profile)____2.5

Point being... Many folks are really upset (and justifiably so as far as 2A is concerned) But the HBAR is known to be a better barrel (more accurate) and that is why Colt uses it for their Match Target Rifles.

if PSA would come out with a TARGET or MATCH line of uppers, which happen to be HBAR... it would be a nice line for them. granted the match line won't be 250 for a complete upper.
