Aside from my guns, I'm a plain kind of guy. Simplicity is often best in my world. ;)

Hell, I wanted to go today, still had to finish up some work on my mom's car for her, now it's just too late - only get 1.5 hours trigger time, not enough.

    Always tomorrow though.

I called in sick for work tomorrow. Do you think my boss will suspect anything. Maybe I should have pulled out of the parking lot before calling. Oh well I'll be at the range in the AM.

    :lol2:

    Priceless!!

If he's a shooter, he'll understand. High's near 70 - maybe just over, winds only at 15 or so, mostly sunny..., that's a perfect range day if I ever heard of one.

best time to go...range is empty! bring a deck umbrella and set up camp! Or just shoot till you are soaked and call it a day!

    Been there, done that. :D

Only downside is walking them muddy lanes to get your stand/target before you leave, but it's almost a guaranteed way to have the range to yourself, aside from crazy al, myself, and a few other members.

I managed to get one day off and it was raining so I went to the range! It turned out great because no one was there and it didnt rain hard for about an hour so once it started I packed up and left but got a free hour of no people!!

A few trips ago wound up like that for me and crazy al, got down there about mid-day, range wasn't too bad, maybe 3 - 5 people at most. Around 14:45 it started raining, kinda light at first, everyone else bugged out, me and al kept shooting and the rain wound up stopping right about 16:30, got another half hour in with relatively dry conditions and called it a day.

I'm just annoyed it didn't snow this winter (so far..., odder things have happened), I was really looking forward to shooting with snow on the ground.

Me to  That crisp clean air that comes with snowfall would make for a really nice trip. Not to mention that echo you get when it's quiet and snowy.

Today was swamped, must've been military day at the Grove.

Didn't have to wait for a table, but good lord it stayed busy till I packed up at 16:30, was quite surprised at how many vehicles were in the parking lot when I showed up, and when I left.

The word is out on the grove, seems even during the weekdays it's getting more and more crowded.

As long as it's dummy rounds, I may be able to come up with something, somewhere. :innocent0

It'll be a little while before I go back down to the grove, cheap CCI primers and my AR aren't getting along right now, so I probably won't be back down till I get a new brand of primer.

Although I may go down just to pick some brass, even if I don't use it, I can find a use for it, need some .45acp brass to stock up on.
