I have a question for any Browning MG people out there:

On an unmodified Browning M1917 (not an A1) Westinghouse/DLO registered MG, how big is the risk of tearing the side plate or bottom plate? Should it be relegated to the safe? Be shot only occasionally? Does it even matter?

I would go to 1919a4.com for more info.

Some people there are actually reproing them.

My guess is that you might want to go a little lighter on it but should be basically fine. Its not like its going to just fall apart one day. You are going to see the signs of issues coming.
