would it be necessary to have the serial/model designation engraved and a photo attached before submitting the eform1?

I have seen people disapproved for not putting a make/model/serial on their form 1 when they used an home made receiver.

If your going to do it, do it right bro.

    Make: Merica
    Model: Fuk-Yeah 15

I'd include the photo, kind of like providing a certificate of compliance. Better to provide a little too much than not enough.

I know it's a big hurrah! for something made by you but I would not use an 80% for a Form1. Although, you have the advantage of making a kicks ass lower and it being all yours and SBRd. I totally get that. It's just the point of the 80% thing.

However, since it's Marylandistahn, at least you save yourself some time in being "Not Disapproved".

But to the most important part... WHERE ARE THE PICS?? At least a rough outline so we can have some boom-boom porn

    for pics, click here.

chad, the eform 1 is saved and all the info is on there. It's an M4A1 CQBR block II build; have it listed as M4A1 under model, and a custom serial number. Will be sending two 80's to a guy. Both will be getting Colt rollmarks, the SBR one will be getting the appropriate info (trust name where usual manufacturer info goes on left side FCG area, model/sn as listed on F1) and the other will be reprofiled to M16A1 for the MK12 Mod 1 upper.

I have seen reports of people getting them approved.

    Here is from a post:

What did you put in for the manufacturer in box 4a? The correct way to tip them off that it came from an 80% is to put "Form 1 registration, United States" in 4a. That's what I've done for the SBR's and suppressors I've made from scratch.

The only thing I would consider with doing an 80% into an SMR, is that BATFE will probably report it to MSP. Otherwise you can build an AR that is not in the MD system.

I already have a number of AR's that aren't in the MD system, thanks to having purchased lotsa lowers before the .mil sent me here. ;)

Just wondering if I need to have a photo of the model/serial designation uploaded to the e-form before paying/submitting. everything else is done.

The above quote from Pinecone is from me. No photos required. Just put down the model/serial/caliber that you intend to engrave, and the OAL that it will end up being and send that form in.

My latest eForm1 came back in just over a month...

If you have the desire to do more than just 80%'s, get a G0709 from Grizzly (just up in PA). It's about twice the price as a mini-mill, but its at least 10x the machine. Well well worth the extra money in frustration alone.

That's a very cool lathe but your math is way off with twice the price :)

Haha. I think he means an G0704. I've seen one of those converted by someone in our local club to CNC. A MUCH more capable machine compared to the little X1/X2s. Similar sentiment was shared by everyone who saw it.

Whoops! smdub is right, I messed the Grizzly number up. G0704 is the one I meant.

Don't get me wrong a G0709 would be freaking awesome, I need one of those.
