Here is a new addition to the Maryland shooter community. I'm glad to bring it home.

Got it this Sunday at the Redding's auction in PA. A 1946 production with three matching mags. This is a solid built pistol with all matching parts. It resembles more like a Spanish Star B than a 1911. It feels good and cannot wait to take it out. Ken792 let's go shooting Friday.

As requested by somd_mustang, here are the pics and three matching mags.

NICE!! Finding one with not just one, but three MATCHING mags is unheard of! Also a bonus that it's a National Police, and not the more common Army (Ejercito) gun. I'd have made getting that one a bit challenging for you. :innocent0

Although, as you state, it's not a true 1911 (the Sistema is), the external look and feel are very close. When you shoot it, other than it not having a grip safety, you can't tell much difference between the two. They are usually excellent shooters.

Very nice "get". The importer "Armamentos" apparently got a batch of the National Police pistols a while back. Some got refinished so you're lucky there!
Really nice bore on that thing. And if you're gonna have an import mark, it's nice to have a bold, clean roll marking that looks "factory" instead of the dot-matrix billboard crap.

One anomaly is the factory B-M mags typically have an F in circle (early) or a stylized "M" of some sort in a circle on the toe (note the change as S/N goes up). The rare ones to find are the ones with the diamond on the toe and no number, those are the British contract mags. Yours may be replacement mags that were marked by the police armorer. They are heavily stamped and have similar font (note that there's variation in font in just these six mags) so it's a very high probability it was done long ago in Argentina and not here by Bubba IMHO. As an aside, the DGFM mags have a much different, thinner, less stylized font for some reason. There's so little known about the B-M's compared to the DGFM's or Colts that it's anybody's guess though.

It's a great find and it'll be a lot of fun. Think about throwing in a new recoil spring... same as a 1911 (I've used the stock #16 with no issues).
