I bought this Marlin 60 .22 back in the mid-80's and ever since it's had the standard (and tiny) .22 scope on it. Now it didn't do a bad job - I shot a ton of rabbits with it but all ways wanted something else. I finally got a chance to get another scope. Nothing special: a inexpensive Simmons 4-power scope.
I'm still tweaking it but I'm very happy with it.
I can't wait to go to the range and give it a test drive!!!
    :D
    So what do y'all think?

(Comparison - I admit it: I took it just for fun)

Next time you are at the range, go put out some targets at 100 yards. Then just watch what she can do once you get the optic dialed in.

You are going to fall in love all over again. I was just stunned at what that cheap little rifle is capable of.

The only thing you have to worry about - some guys have problems with their rings not holding zero - it is tough to get a good bite on that little dovetail. If you have problems, don't over-tighten the rings and damage the rail - there is a better way. See the other thread on 60 vs 795 for a link to some inexpensive rings that definitely work because they grab the entire rail. It is an easy fix.

    In case you were wondering

What I did with the old scope:

I had a BB gun that needed a scope and what-do-you-know, the old .22 scope fit!

Nothing (gun-wise) gets wasted around my house!
