Thanks. You are right. It is a whole lot of scope for a 30-30. I got a hell of a deal on that scope 25 or 30 years ago and it has been on there ever since. It stretches out a lot further than I would feel comfortable taking a deer with that caliber gun, but it has served me well.

Henry makes them .22LR up. It sells like a regulated handgun, not a rifle. You have to get a stamp if you install a full butt stock making it a SBR. Kind of weird I think.

Rossi makes them as well. Not near as nice as the Henrys but a lot cheaper.

If I had my "HQL" I would get this one, a very good price even for a blem.

The newest lever action to my collection.

Marlin model 56, Mag for it came yesterday, gonna try it out today to make sure it at least functions. threw a vintage weaver scope on it, if the scope is any good ill sight it in as well. and take a pic later.

2007 pre-Remington Marlin 1895 Guide Gun and leupold 4x. 45/70 and great fun. When I first bought this rifle I was 18 and 150lbs wet. The owners of Ricks Gun and Pawn up in Connowingo told me that if I didn't like it, i.e. if the recoil was too much, to return it and they'd give me 60% of my money back. Challenge accepted. Shot it, loved it. Still do today. Great little shooter, tons of fun and always a conversation piece at the range or around the camp fire.

Bought it at the Lebanon PA show last weekend John. Today I added a V22 vintage weaver scope to it and was shooting 1.5 inch groups at 50yards with it. Fairly accurate, but it was cold so was hard to dial in when you are shaking.lol

Not sure of the value; I don't know if it's a good deal.

I do know the wife would not consider this a good use of the IRA.
