"He said a national consensus on gun control is needed."

So no need for state representatives, one idea fits all?! If this is the case then I'll stick with what we have ... "The Second Amendment".

We do need a national consensus on gun control. That consensus should be that it won't work, and they should move along to the next topic.....

Socialism requires conformity, at the point of a gun if necessary.

You can't have people mouthing off (1A), or presenting an armed resistance (2A), and still be able to impose your self-styled socialist utopia on everybody.

    They're incompatible.

That's why socialist Europe disarmed its citizens, and why speech rights are more restricted there, too.

Well in reality, that is exactly what happened on the national level. There isn't jack squat being done in Congress right now about gun laws. It isn't an issue. Its only an issue to the liberal MSM and politicians. That's it.

Secretly, the likes of MSLSD celebrate every time some wack job loses his mind. That way the get to gin up the masses.

Amazing how what was once a virtue, is now a political buzz word and gross misnomer.

I'm amazed that an admitted Socialist can get elected to office in this country. I guess it shows just how far gone we are as a nation. Anyone with a lick of sense can see that we need to go back to a smaller Federal Government like the Founding Fathers wanted. We need to regain the States Rights that once existed. A Socialist will just want to continue expanding our existing behemoth and take even more control of every facet of our lives. You can forget about freedom when that happens.

So a desire for the return of a smaller Federal Government and a reclaiming of States Rights makes you an insurrectionist now?

    In my opinion, certainly not.

In the eyes of some of those around here that suffer from a lack of balls, possibly. :sad20:

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I foolishly thought that everyone in this forum would agree that the Federal Government had become an overgrown monster.
