    Possession is banned for POST OCT 1, 2013 firearms. If the father can possess it legally in MD, it can be loaned/borrowed. Just not transferred.

    And the courts have ruled that transfer is a permanent change in ownership.

    Possession of an Assault Weapon is illegal. Once exception is if a person possessed an Assault Long Gun or Copycat Weapon prior to October 1, 2013, that person may continue to possess the ALG or Copycat. If my dad may possess an ALG, that does not mean I may, we are different people.

    Please quote the actual language of the law that states that.

    Not being a pain, but I looked for it and could not find where they anything except that possession of a post Oct 1, 2013 ALG is illegal.
