That's right.....I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it with my own eyes! I hope someone submits this to the Handgun Roster.

Question...would an AKM rifle in 9mm be banned?? I figure that's coming out next

Should be legal, no way the mechanicals interchange directly.

I think the "AK and all variants" covers a 9mm AK rifle too but shopsnwill still sell them.

The AKX-9 is in production now and hope to have a gun submitted to MSP in a month or two , we will also be offering a rifle and that would be legal in MD cash n carry.

wonder if they replaced the piston with a weight for the blowback action?

They're working on 2 versions. The one that's closer to being finished uses Colt mags, the other uses MP5 mags. I want the latter.
