Mailed the CMP papers today. Status update

I mailed and ordered a M1 Garand today (CMP Special RM1SPECIALHRA). I attached all the required papers and the docs are in the order. I don't anticipate any problems with this order.

I will keep you posted on the status; the day that CMP charges my credit card, when a tracking number if any is provided and the day it finally arrives. I will also post the date of receipt and a picture.

Any guesses when it should arrive? If anyone guesses the exact day, I will send you a box of M1 ammo (MD only). Post your entry... One per member.

Based on my timeframe, I say it arrives on May 7th.

Wish I had ordered my ammo earlier, I'm still waiting on it.

I keep talking myself out of doing this. I want one bad. Dad has a bring back Winchester in excellent condition, I love shooting it. I printed out the paperwork....but then I look at ammo cost, and think about cost to buy even a few hundred rounds, THEN the cost to set up to reload for it...

The only thing I already have on hand is LR primers. Then I think of all the C&R and surplus guns I want in calibers I already stock and reload for...and the Garand paperwork gets set aside again.

I'll play. I say May 3rd. I think for the rifles they have stockpiled they are moving a whole lot faster. I have orders in both a HRA and SA service grade (put in at different times).... who knows when I'll get mine.

No. Bad idea. Get one now, they aint making any more and they won't last forever.

Don't research for too long. When I started thinking about it I had several grades and two makers to choose from. By the time I ordered, the SA were gone and so were the rack grade

Next you will receive the "DBU": the "Don't Bug Us" e-mail.

I'd guess early May for the actual rifle, probably on a day you're really busy ( but not too busy to post pictures).

My guess June 10th. I'm waiting on an SA Service Grade mailed in 12/20/13. I'm debating on ordering an HRA too.

I am ordering a HRA service grade. Received the DBU and they acknowledged receipt of my information as 3/13. Also ordered 2 cans of Greek ammo to feed it. I will keep you posted on any additional developments. My guess for your delivery date will be June 9.

I put in an order for an HRA Service Grade and some ammo and eblocs on 3/17(the date the DBU email gave for receipt). So i will be watching for dad4's update
