So, I may be in the market for a .50 soon.

I know about the Barretts and the semi's are no go in MD.

I know Serbus exist and have shot the BFG-50 but not the BFG-50A

I know Steyr makes a bolt.

Any other good makes to look at? Any makes to avoid?

I have not yet decided on bolt or semi but magazine feed is a must.

    TIA!

I'm saving up for an AR50, it looked like the best for the money.

The only banned .50 in MD is the Barrett "Light Fifty", which most sane people would interpret as the M82A1. Everything else is theoretically fine. If you were convincing enough, you might even be able to slide the M107A1 through. *shrugs*

I own two, one is a AMAC 5100 built by Iver Johnson, It is a single shot.
And a 1st gen Armalite AR50 single shot.
The AMAC is not a comfortable rifle to shoot, Technology with muzzle brake from 30 years ago.
The Armalite is so much easier on the body to shoot, Newer design brake My son can and has shot it all afternoon without any discomfort.
I know your looking for a mag feed rifle and if I were to buy one I would look at a Barrett myself.
50's are a pain in the ass to haul around and we don't shoot mine much because of that, And if you buy one be prepared for EVERYONE at any range to look at it, Finger it and then want to shoot it. LOL.

Sean and I were at the AGC about 2 weeks ago and ran across another member with an AR 50. He let us run a few rounds through it, that thing was a blast to shoot!

Not really hitting what I asked but thanks anyway.

    Single shots are out.

Anzio Iron Works, Anvil, the most terrifying 50 BMG on a Earth.

    Inexpensive, low tech havoc.

Not into neutering guns by lopping off barrel the round can use.

Spoke with an FFL "I don't know other than what MSP says", spoke with Barrett "We never made anything called a "light .50", have a call into a lawyer............'nuff said?

Give Duffys a call they had one sitting in stock for a bit and had a sale on it not too long ago. If you ask real nice they may let you have it for the said sale price!

    Hhhmmmmm............... as it's worded............

Perhaps the poster forgot a comma between the words SHOOT and KIDS.

    Kinda' like:
Help your Uncle Jack off the horse.

Why do I have a feeling they are as concerned about Maryland legal stupidity as Bushmaster turned out to be?:sad20:
