looking for a good shop that can tackle a couple projects im planning (builds, modifications and installs). I just wanna be able to tell em what i want done, drop the parts off and pick up the end results in a couple days and pay my tab. I strongly believe in leaving certain things to the pros when I have no experience or even time to dedicate to learning instead of making DIY disasters :lol2:

Scotts Gunsmithing Thelma Ave, Glen Burnie, MD. is a top notch gunsmith and an IP here.

A little more of a drive, but John at Duffy's Gun Room has done SUPERB work for me. Nice folks, too!

They are also an IP here.

But at last report , Scott's had enough backlog to not accept any new work.

The drop off several projects , and pick up in a few days is probably a streatch.

Most GOOD gunsmiths have this problem.

Right. John up at Duffy's took several months fixing my problem--and was up front in telling me that I would not get it back for that length of time. However, it was a complicated repair on a gun that will hit the century mark next year, no parts available, nobody else would touch it, etc., etc. Not to mention that I just can't say enough positive about his work!

Scott isn't accepting new work till October. I asked about just getting a bolt handle put on and sounded like I wouldn't get it back till November.
