We are good to do face to face on long guns and hand guns. I check ID and CHL if possible. I also always do a bill of sale. Some people don't like that but I like to cover myself. What you selling or buying?

I am buying a Mossy 500 20 ga and turning it into a house gun for my wife and mom. I'm ordering an 18 inch barrel for it.

And yes, I would insist on ID and bill of sale, every traansaction.

I have sold two handguns in my life. A charter arms and a .22 ruler stainless 8 inch bbl. I still have the bill of sales from the 80's. You never know when the gun may be used in a crime.

18 is the legal age for long guns and shotguns and like stripped lowers right? 21 for pistols?

    Negative.

In West Virginia, you can purchase a handgun through a private sale legally at the age of 18 AND open carry it. You have to wait until 21 to get your CHL to conceal, except in extremely limited (special) circumstances.

The 21 requirement still applies to FFLs, which must abide by Federal laws.

I do remember reading that. I am making a private sale, just double checking.
