The BBTOH brought me a box from Cabela's this afternoon. And I could not be happier. :)

Inside was a Pietta 1860 Army Pistol. It’s bootiful! And it fits perfectly in between the 1847 Walker and the 1851 Navy.

Time to go make white smoke!

    That Walker sure stands out.

    Nice set.

Oh, yes! The Walker stands out!
I can thank 4570inMD for introducing me to the fun of shooting 1847 Walker replicas.

I've posted the pics below of Walkers before. Each time I see them they remind me to pack BP pistols for the next Hooligan range trip. :D

Having the blessing to capture a picture of Mooseman at the instant his trigger pull ignited the cap on a Walker...to me to me that's a priceless classic.

I'm hoping the 1860 Army is as much fun.

It took me a while to figure out BBTOH meant. Had to ask my bride.

    "Big Brown Truck of Happiness"...

Tracking numbers are great! Husbands are always on the alert about the ETA. When wives see it deliver a box with your name on it ---- you're busted!

j8064 now that you have the Holy Black under your skin and the white smoke in your lungs it is time to go a little further back in time and try your hand with a flint lock. I love the smell of sulfur in the morning.

Hey now, what's with the two-handed shooting? You need to shoot those in the traditional duelist style to get the full affect.

Been there, done that. :lol2: It's tough enough to hold a Walker on target with both hands!

For those who have never fired an 1847 Walker: It's the "Dirty Harry" pistol of its day. It's massive. Shooting one is a helluva lot of fun! :party29:

My expectation is the new 1860 Army will be a tad milder... We'll see...:innocent0

I thought someone caught you knapping.:D

I've never fired that flintlock pistol. But now you got me figuring out what I'll need to pull it off its stand and take it to the range! :banghead:

    Dayum...It's ALWAYS something...

I've shot my Army and Navy replicas (both in 44) a few times. Recoil isn't as bad as a 4 3/4 SAA in 44-40 with a full case of BP. I shoot my BP guns duelist style, since I'm moving to Gunfighter in SASS next year.

I've got some 'rocks' that will fit that pistol.

Next Hooligan shoot, I'll bring some flints -- if it ever stops raining!

What is the bore on that one?

    4570inMD

4570, I'm convinced it's NEVER going to stop raining!

I have no idea what diameter ball the pistola would take. The bore measures about .665". I believe it's a shootable replica made by some unknown company. It's been on its stand in my office for umpteen years.

I'm willing to light it off if you are. What's the worst that could happen anyhow?

    :lol2:
