I suddenly don't feel so ripped off by the range for $16 a box. Remind me to hit Wal-Mart on the way home!

WM has Fed Champion 9mm brass FMJ 50ct (replaced Blazer brass) for $8.97 when it's in stock. Not gonna pay $14 + Natchez shipping (which is among the highest on the net) for Blazer. Don't need 9mm that bad. I'll just keep on WMing it.

How much is 9mm "supposed to be"? Say, using 2004 or 2005 pricing.

The real problem with relying on WM is that, well, it's unreliable, and when you do find ammo there, you're severely limited in what quantity you can buy. Things have improved lately, but I do understand why people may prefer to spend more to ensure they've got it.

erwos, the WWB at Wal-Mart was around $12-$14/box of 100 in the past.

Late 2001 or early 2002 I paid $99 for a 500 round case of 230gr .45ACP ball. (+ tax, in state buy) Of course at the same time one could buy a steak for a several $$ less per pound then you can now.

I do not mind raising prices if the added cost is due to workers getting more $$, I earn more now then in '02, so the clerk at Wal-Mart should too. What sucks is prices going up just because someone says "OH, there is panic buying, let's make $$".
