I met up with a guy at Greentop who was selling his shotgun. I figured I'd check for supplies while I was in there. Picked up his (now my) shotgun and some other goodies.

IAC Winchester 87 clone. He'd fired less than a box of shells through it. $350.

Fun gun and you got a good deal on that one. I bought one about two years ago and some guy thought it was some big bore lever rifle. If it gives you any trouble, like shells hanging up went you cycle it or failure to go into battery try Winchester AA target loads. They seem to work best. Mine runs Winchester slugs with no problem and I group slugs like it's a rifle at 50 and 100 yards. If it still funky get in touch with Coyote Cap online (he a SASS gunsmith) he'll work the bugs out of it and it'll make the gun seem flawlessly smooth. Here's mine.

I have no idea what the choke is on this. I've been cycling it with some dummy shells I picked up from my gunsmith, it does not seem to cycle when the barrel is vertical, which may make it tough as a dove gun :D I'm going to my first CAS match on 2/4, I may just jump in with both feet since I have all of the guns I need now.

Shot her today, would not eject Remington target loads since the fired shell was too long. The Winchester AAs I picked up worked perfectly with this shotgun, thanks for the tip.

It looks like I'll be sending her off for some work. I shot my first CAS match with her last night and while it fed fine ejection was problematic.

I have one, havent gotten around to shooting it yet. Seems to handle ok but I dont like that very small nub on the hammer, 10 times worse than the originals.

Those super short shells don't feed properly in this shotgun. I loaded up three in the tube and when I worked the action two popped out of the tube onto the feed ramp. Glad I only spent $12 for 20, I can at least use them in my SxS. The Winchester bird shot worked fine, though. I need to get a box of 2.5" shells and try them out.
