Raskin or Zirkin

Listening to news radio this morning, there was a program called "Behind Maryland Politcs" (I think that was the title) that was exploring who Mike Miller was going to appoint to the Judicial Proceedings Committee to replace Frosh. The only 2 names that were presented for discussion were Jamie Raskin and Robert "Bobby" Zirkin.

Of these 2, which is the lesser of 2 evils regarding 2A in Maryland?

I heard that (Inside Maryland Politics is the correct name) and was wondering the same thing myself. Probably is no lesser evil since Mike Miller likes them both.

I see no real difference either way.

Neither one is particularly friendly to us, and are known liars.

Zirkin bailed on a key vote that he didn't want accountability for, so he could watch his kid's lacrosse game.

Zirkin, who I believe was a defense attorney, wrote the HORRIBLE and likely ILLEGAL and UNENFORCEABLE marijuana law. Regardless of your views on the matter of legalization he could have AT LEAST put together workable legislation.

I've met him personally once and he and his family seemed like nice folks. Other then that I don't have much other then he's a regular typical liberal democrat.

Zirkin used to be more moderate, but the last few years he went off the deep end. He was a sponsor of 281 and lied to my face about it.

We know Raskin is a true believer. I can't say the same for Zirkin. Devoid of any evidence, I am betting he is now moving straight to the left to start climbing the MD Dem tower of crap for higher office.
