Another thanks here for Norton, DD, & Spot. Very well organized. What a fantastic day. Finally was able to put some rounds through the 6.8. Only bad part was sitting next to the Barrett and having my stomach turned upside down every time by the concusion of the blowback. ;)

    SORRY!!!

I didn't realize that the blast wave from that bad boy was so rough. I walked away from that table grinning and I still am a little... :D

50BMG is fun, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM. Punch holes in steel, next time i'll bring some 1 inch plates and maybe an I-beam, and I will sight it in better, it's set for 600 yards. Was wondering if it's possible to get that plate with the holes in it though. No one ever gets used to the 50 firing, though as a former cannon cocker 155mm goes boom even better, and an M1A tank wow! I still have about 100 rounds, it wasn't shot that much today, maybe 31 rounds.

I'd like to add my thanks to Spot, Norton and DD for organizing today's get together. It's the first time I've been to one of these events - actually the first time I've been to a real range - so its safe to say I have an absolute blast!

See you all at the next event!

Hey Boatbod, there was a guy at the range I met with a name that sounded just like yours. I think he said his name was Boatbawd, or Boatbot or something.

Geez, I really don't know where to start with the thank you part. I can not believe how many different .45's I shot today, thanks to all the guys that brought them and hunted me down to let me shoot them! To anyone else that let me shoot their guns, thank you very much! To all the good folks who showed up to have a good time, thank you very much! I just can't tell you how great it feels to me being around so many people that love this sport as much as they do.

Ya know, I never ever ever let my daughter get out of my sight when shooting at my own range because of the very uncomfortable feeling I get doing that. This event has so many good people that I actually let her go with some friends to shoot with them and that takes an extraordinary level of comfort for me to do, thank you ALL very much. My buddies that came up from North Carolina specifically for this shoot had a great time and I thank all the folks that let them try shooting some different guns, I think we will be seeing them on the forum soon. Can't wait till the next one!!!

What a great day. Thanks to everyone for coming, and thanks for being such an excellent group of respectable, trustworthy, and safe people (yes, even Spot77 ;)) Shame on those in our government who think that we should not have the right to do what we did today. I think they should attend the next event.

Also, a huge thanks to everyone who chipped in to cover my MDShooters receiver. You have no idea how much that means to me. That will definitely be the hand-me-down to one of my sons to pass through the generations, and the fact that it was a gift from the group gives it that much more sentimental value.

It was good to meet so many of you, and to put faces to names. The next event can't come soon enough.

Oh, and a huge thank you to those that donated items for the raffle. We raised a little over $300 to go towards the next event. We haven't decided what we are going to do, but at least we've got some resources to work with now.

You loved it, and you know it. Did you ever get a round down range of the 50 BMG? Next time I'll make it up to you, free shots, 5 rounds. But I want to try some of those guns you had too.
