They will do that when you pick it up. You have to fill out a 4473 and pass a NICS check, just like a cash and carry long gun.

    Dammit.

Oh, well. Just as easy as buying an unregulated rifle, then.

Form 4s have been reportedly coming back in about 5 months. So only 150 days. :)

And if you do all that, you still have to do the 4473 and NICS checks. :)

Trust is definitely the way to go.

Sorry to thread jack but I had a question relating to trusts. Would an immediate family member qualify as a trust?

You can't put a human being into a trust since the 13th amendment :lol2:

If you meant can another family member be a trustee, there is some doubt to that. I was told they can, at a popular IP this weekend, but reviewing the oft mentioned Rusty Shackelford's posts, he cast doubt on this practice in this post:

    1. A trust lets you share your NFA items with other people not under your direct supervision. As an individual owner, you cannot let another person use your NFA items unless that person is under your direct supervision. A trust grants other trusted persons unfettered and unsupervised access to your NFA items such as your spouse, friends, family members, etc. Whomever you choose to name as a co-trustee. [Edited Note: This was true before Maryland passed SB281; post-SB281, it is unclear to me whether this principle holds true for trusts that pre-date SB281. I do not recommend making multi-person trusts post effective date of SB281 (10/1/13)]

I live in the area....tell me how you got it done in 2 days please?

Do you the forms as usual, then drop them off in an envelope addressed to the Sheriff with clerk at the Sheriff's Office side of the lobby. I've been called once to pick them up two days after I dropped it off. The other time, I got them in the mail 3 days after I dropped it off.

Funny, Rusty did a multi person trust for me after Oct 1, 2013.

Also, what in the FSA2013 says ANYTHING about trusts????

Or if you own a corp, (LLC,S-Corp) you can use that instead of trust but the corp has to stay in good atanding, the part I like is as a corp officer I can designate someone to use my NFA toys by simply writing a letter instead of amending trust. They both have pros/cons
