I have 4-5 uppers that I would like to get laser etched with their calibers and colored in white(5.56, 9MM, 5.45x39,.7.62x39, 22LR). Would like to do it on the side of the picatinny rail like the attached photo. Anyone around here do this kind of work? I have tried one or two IPs but no answer from them.

    Thanks,

I'd call bollingers in taneytown. Not sure if they etch but they do have a sweet engraver which may be able to do this

AFAIK, etching isn't normally deep enough into the material to do a prominent fill afterwards.

I'd be willing to bet it's either rolled or pressed during manufacturing.

They say it is laser etched.

I tried Bollinger. They never answered my inquiries. Must be really busy.

Not to discourage the use of local businesses, but you may want to contact Modern Outfitters in Meridian, MS. I know they do laser engraving.

Some shops do better than others replying to email and PMs. I've always had luck when I call them. Not sure if you called or not but I can't recall not getting called back if I had to leave a voice mail.

    Good luck with your project

I hate emails and voicemails. Call the shop - especially you Dave, you know me better than that. AND, you were supposed to be here for G-N-Grub ;)

Yeah sorry something family came up and I could not make it. Was bummed. I have a whole new set of toys for it. Will try to make the next one. Will try to call the shop in a day or two.
