I'm not editing anything. Just mimicking what people here have been posting.

OMG It's a week in and no change in permit. I'm not voting him again.

WTF haven't heard where he stands on deer hunting. Should have voted for Brown.

WTF....wants to cut the budget....when is Frosh running again?

Do I think Hogan is going to be great at everything? No.

Do I think he is better then the other options? Yup. Is that good enough for me...yes.

    Folks need to calm down.

You forgot ' no MSP head yet' :D

For the record, I'd be quite happy if he lessened the tax burdens on the citizens of MD, then I could spend my money on private companies that will use their funds a little wiser than the state could ever do.

The governor neither raises or lowers taxes ... that's the general assembly ... Miller & Busch ... same old same old .

    Hogan

This state has such large fiscal issues, those need to be addressed first and foremost.

Hogan is definitely our friend, but more importantly, he's a friend to the state of Maryland.

Agreed. If he does well, perhaps people will start to trust his word and then he can expand to other things. People will not see him as the Boogey-Man the Libtards make him out to be.

    YUP!

And then he'll have a fighting chance at winning again in 2018 and then his Lt. Gov. in 2022 and again in 2026.

This could be the start of something big.

    Let's try something different

Gov. Larry Hogan’s first action as the new chairman of Maryland's Board of Public Works was to refuse to approve an 'emergency' contract for public relations services. Hogan’s disapproval of the $40,000 contact awarded by the Department of Human Resources last August – and belatedly reported to the board – sent a clear message he intends to make changes in the way some state agencies buy goods and services. The new governor said emergency contracts should be awarded only in the case of true emergencies. 'Hiring a political firm to come in and give you advice is not an emergency,' he said.

Sounds like a reasonable approach to me.

Hogan can no more undo the damage done to Maryland by Democratic stranglehold by himself than Obama can single-handedly legalize millions of illegal immigrants.

He is just the first step.

    I agree,only I'd never refer to a stranglehold as "Democratic"....Democrat yes,Democratic....no.

I'm surprised of the flattery in that article. Made mom look like a careless jerkoff (which he is, but you wouldn't know from sun reporting before).

He just got done ripping 40 million from PG County Schools and 15 or so from Baltimore.

As they complained that they needed hundred million dollar new buildings him and Mr. Franchot advised them they "needed to take better care of that they already have".

Apparently there is some kind of "index" that indicates how much funding each county gets from the state.

The unions are freaking because already. They've gone to talks of laying off teachers because as we all KNOW that's the FIRST and ONLY excess in the budget.

I have zero believe he's going to get a second term....but I hope he keeps his course while in there.

He's way better than what we could have had. Count your blessings. We suffered for 30 years before electing the last Republican governor. If there's going to be a majority Dem legislature in Annapolis, at least we have someone tugging things the other direction.

Keep in mind, he has far bigger issues like a 750 million deficit to solve before he calls in favors on other issues. There will be a LOT of people pissed off after their budgets are cut. It may be another session, or three, before he has any political capital to spend on 2A issues. Ultimately he has limited power to reform anything already put into law and it's Annapolis we should focus on.

If he knew what I know about the abuses in P.G. County Schools procurement he would have cut $100 milion from their budget without blinking.

I think he is....his proposed budget is better then anything else thats been put forth in years...imagine that....balancing your check book. Give the guy time...as much as we all want stuff for us...lets face it...the fact he isnt anti 2A isnt what got him elected...one thing i know for certain....i havent heard any anti gun sentiments coming from the governors mansion since he took over....that alone should make everyone breath a little easier.

Has a Republican legislature stopped Terry McAullife from trying to implement a 100% socialist agenda? Did it stop him from pushing gun control bills that went nowhere?
It's shameful how timidly we behave compared to our opponents.

What you say is true, but someone needs to be the adult in the room.

Just because they act like tantrum throwing sandbox dwellers doesn't mean we have to.
