That's funny. Not a word about how crime dropped through the floor because we've banned "military style assault weapons" in MD.

Sure Marty, if you refuse to lock them up in the first place, good chance they can't be "repeat" offenders, at least not on the books. F'ng egotistical pile of fly magnet.

Ah, but think of how wonderful it will be to see his face when he realizes he's lost the general election by 15 points or so. After putting paid to the Clinton fantasy for us, of course.

    Delightful.

He didn't mention how he successfully strong armed the legislature and got SB281 passed. That was remarkable infringement on law abiding citizens Constitutional right of self defense. If he's merely trying to demonstrate how 'progressive' he is, surely he should have mentioned this.

Or, maybe he realizes that pointing out what his real legacy is, it may backfire?

Don't worry, once this POS gets on the national stage he'll pat himself on the back and brag about SB281!

    Liberal legacy

The liberals have run this state for almost 50 years. Does anyone believe things are going to change?

Great point. Baltimore is a shining example of a massive failure of a socialism test case. A single party has dominated throughout, and conservatives have traded ownership of the city on and off only through the early to mid 1800s. Most notably, since 1947, "Progressives" have had full reign over the city with only a single 4-year interruption. The poor are poorer and fully dependent on voting down the party line, and all the extorted people's money of the entire state hasn't managed to pull Baltimore's schools out of the "f-u-teacher" punk mindset. Baltimore truly is the crown jewel of socialist control of the people. Still, they will not own their failure, blaming everyone who is not running the city, all the while demanding more money as the fix-all cure to crime and ignorance.

    This oughta help him

    After Freddie Gray

In fact, the Greatest City in America or Charm City or The City that Reads- other mayoral taglines-keeps shrinking or stagnating at best. Under Mayor Martin O'Malley (December 1999 to January 2007), the potential Democratic presidential candidate who asked residents to "Believe," the population of Baltimore fell about 8,000 to 640,961. For some perspective, in 1950 Baltimore boasted 950,000 residents. Today it's home to about 622,000.

Believing benefited some. Developers who mastered the art of Tax Increment Financing thrived. So did the Orioles and Ravens who enjoy taxpayer-financed stadiums. But each tax break for the next project guaranteed to increase jobs and revenue - they all seem guaranteed until they weren't - required a bigger contribution from home and business owners to run the city, because someone had to pay the bills. Not surprisingly, many voted no to those deals with their feet, leaving thousands of abandoned properties in their wake.

That's why "The Wire" rang so true. Read "Baltimore City, You're Breaking My Heart" for more on that

Has anyone checked with him to see how Sade and the kids are doing??

    Sade Baderinwa Martin O Malley

That could be an asset for him ... the first president with a biracial-family. :innocent0

Well, may not HIS family per se. And if I remember Jefferson's dalliance, not the first either. Knowing the Teflon leprechaun, if that ever makes the pages of the MSM, he'll spin it like he was a 'founding father'. :sarcasm:
