    Hey -

On my way in to work just now. 9:30 Monday am. I saw a buttload of what looked like firetrucks, police and or other emergency equipment on the ramp exiting from 100 E onto 95 S.

Anybody got a clue as to what is going on?

BTW: No apparent traffic problems on either 100 or 95.

    Rob.

I was already past there, but can make an assumption based on my F/R background. This would imply a likely accident response on a high-speed road, which would yield this:

    • In the direction of travel reported:
      • One fire engine for fire suppression and manpower
      • One rescue squad for extrication and manpower
      • One EMS unit for treatment/transport
      • At least one F/R duty officer/chief for supervision
      • At least one police unit for traffic control
      • If possible, at least one SHA unit for traffic control signage, cones, and potentially emergent towing capability to clear travel lanes
    • In the opposing direction of travel reported:
      • One fire engine for fire suppression and manpower
      • One EMS unit for treatment/transport
      • At least one police unit for traffic control
The primary reason for sending units to both directions of a separated highway is to ensure the accident is located properly (think of folks that are not situation/direction aware reporting an accident that they saw while traveling at highway speeds).

In this case, it's an exit ramp with no opposing direction of travel. There were at least 5-6 non-police emergency vehicles, I think more and about 8-12 police cars all with lights going. It wasn't old, as I was behind an additional emergency vehicle which was just arriving. Also, no visible accident, no traffic impact.

I believe it was a MVC with reported entrapment on the ramp from 100 EB to 95 SB. I drove past the same thing, and my super secret squirrel people told me that was it. I don't think anything came of it, but I am unaware of the resolution.

Thanks! It just struck me as odd, All that hullabaloo with no obvious cause or traffic impact.
