the marlin 60 is tube fed, so reloading may take a bit more time that swapping out a magazine on the 10/22.
I have both and favor the 10/22 in reliability and ease of use.

Hard decision. All of them would be fine. Just go to the store, hold each one, and go with your gut. I doubt you'll make the wrong choice. I am an admitted Savage fanboy and addict ut for me the MarkII wasn't confortable to shoot. My trigger hand would cramp. There was nothing wrong with the rifle, it just didn't work for me.

Marlin works, but not as good of wood and build quality. Especially since Remington bought them.

I don't know. When I bought my first unreliable 10/22 , I figured it must have been a one in a million fluke. My second ( brand new ) unreliable 10/22 , and I'm thinking there's an Emporer doing some streaking .

Do you want a decent out of the box rifle, or a starting point to replace everything except the action with aftermarket parts ?

The Marlin is a good , accurate rifle from the box. The price is substantly lower than a 10/22. The weakest link is the trigger. The 10/22 has a metric crapload of aftermarket parts and accesories.

    This for the win.

I own a 795 and alucard has a hooped-up 10/22. The 795 with the microgroove rifled barrel will be more accurate than most 10/22's out of the box. If you're not planning on switching things around, you're going to be hard-pressed beating a 795 for value. The trigger isn't the best, but is easily made better by polishing up a couple places inside(or just shooting it to break it in).

There's also some things you can do similar to a 10/22. Marlins have 25 rnd mgs out for them now and some different stocks you can pickup.

    http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/Produ...barrel-channel-stock-pepper-laminate-finished

And while the 795 isn't drilled/tapped for a traditional base/mounts, the little rimfire rail has some options for a sturdy scope-mount...

Now if you want to go wild modifying it, alucard's 10/22 now has a better trigger by far and is silly accurate with the new barrel. You can go absolutely nuts changing around a 10/22 to be anything from a bullpup to some skeletonized biathlon-looking hotness.

Of course, there's always another option...skip cheap and skip semi in order to get a stupid-accurate rimfire for not a bunch of money....cz455

You're not going to find a more accurate rimfire south of an anschutz... food for thought.

I have a 10/22 and Mark II. I would choose the 10/22 over the others. or just buy one of each. the only thing I would add is check out the ruger American in .22LR. I have shot a few rounds out of a one that my friend owns and I really enjoyed it. I really think you can go wrong with any of them.

About the Ruger American - I did have a chance to fondle one of those a couple of months back, and it did feel good (size, balance, cheek weld, trigger pull).

I like wood though. Maybe I wait and see if anybody comes up with a Black Friday special on a CZ. Then I compare that to the 10/22 with a wood stock.

    Not likely, I know.

A $100 semiauto .22 in the 795 is a good buy.....but moving up closer to $250-300, it's harder to justify getting the 10/22 instead of a S&W M&P15-22 for a couple more bucks. The 15-22 gives you an accurate and reliable rifle that allows you to train up for cheap on an AR platform, with a good amount of skill transfer being possible.

Again, if you want one of the most accurate rimfires for strictly punching holes...then the CZ gets the nod....orrrr step up to a savage 93R in 17HMR for something you can assassinate nickels with @ 100 yards.

    The real answer is:

    Get them ALL. :)

You can't have too many .22 rifles or pistols.
