How is it harder to argue that assault against one group of people is more of a crime than assault against other citizens?

    Assault is assault

    Murder is murder

doesn't matter who the victim was.

This is an easy argument to make

That's what you think. LEOs and other first responders are more important than you, or your wife, or your kids.

If you want equal protection under the law, you need to get a job writing speeding tickets, parking tickets, or cruising through neighborhoods the month before Christmas on the Santa Fire Truck.
